Protest at the Glebe Redevelopment
The redevelopment of the Cowper Street public housing will not answer any need for housing in the inner city. It is simply a privatization move by the State Government wanting to abnegate its responsibilities.
A protest will held in the Glebe to protest about the lack of humanity involved in this development and to stop good public assets being passed into private hands.
Details
Start at the corner of Glebe and Mitchell Sts
and
march to Verity Firth’s office on Glebe Point Rd.
Time: noon on Saturday November 27th
Our demands are
- That the development be stopped
- All evictions of residents living in those units be stopped.
- Improve public housing by renovation and maintenance not by bulldozing homes!
